Why the name "Vac to the Future"?
Vac to the Future began trading as an insulation removal business to service Canberra and surrounding regions. The name is a play on words referring to the industrial vacuum we use to remove the old insulation. What is cavity wall insulation?
Cavity wall insulation is specifically designed for brick veneer homes without existing wall insulation however it can be retrofitted to almost any type of wall cavity. It involves pumping a water and pest retardant insulation into the cavity between the external walls and timber frames. What type of insulation is better? Batts or Blow In Cellulose?
Neither. Both products have their pros and cons, it really depends on the application. For example, batts are generally the most practical option for uninsulated ceilings where the home owner is considering doing renovations later on because they are easy to shift around in the roof as necessary. Cellulose however, is brilliant for laying over uneven covers of existing ceiling insulation because its guaranteed to give a gap free cover.
